The optical multiplexer and demultiplexer board can multiplex or demultiplex optical signals of different wavelengths.
Figure 4-7 shows the position of the two units in the system.

4.4.3 Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer Board
In the optical add/drop multiplexer board, single-wavelength optical signals are added to and dropped from the multiplexed signals and sent to an OTU.
